When expressed in human or insect cells, antigens are post-translational modified (glycosylation and phosphorylation) and more closely resembling the native viral proteins. These antigens can be used for total antibody detection against SARS-CoV-2 virus in double-antigen sandwich immunoassay. They have been validated in ELISA with clinical serum samples, and were shown to be highly sensitive and with high specificity.
