CD
Bioparticles provides silica particles with a high amount of covalently bound
fluorescence dye in the silica matrix. The fluorescent silica particles we
offer consist of ultra-monodisperse spherical silica particles loaded with a
fluorescent dye, providing fluorescence capabilities comparable to heavy metal
quantum dots (which are generally classified as toxic), with
excitation/emission values dependent on the dye/color. Dye-doped silica
particles allow different dyes and drugs to be accommodated in the silica
matrix while still allowing control over the resulting particle size and shape.
Furthermore, their adaptable and well-understood chemistry allows simple and
straightforward modifications of particle surface chemistry, providing reactive
sites for further functionalization.
Currently,
fluorescent silica particles have been widely used in biology and biomedicine
as a potential fluorescent probe. Various biomedically important targets, such
as cancer cells, bacteria, and individual biomolecules, could be labeled with
highly fluorescent silica particles. With excellent fluorescence properties,
silica particles with various fluorescence and functional groups we provide can
be used in many fields, such as biomarkers, biological imaging, and biosensing.

The
fluorescent silica nanoparticles are available with red fluorescence
(excitation: 569 nm, emission: 585 nm), green fluorescence (excitation: 485 nm,
emission: 510 nm) and blue fluorescence (excitation: 354 nm, emission: 450 nm).
Different surface functionalities including Si-OH, NH2 and
COOH enable covalent binding of proteins, antibodies, oligonucleotides, and
other molecules.
